Q. Can mammoplasty treat asymmetry as well?
Several reasons cause breast asymmetries, such as asymmetry in breast tissue and chest shape. Everyone is asymmetric, though the severity varies, and it is considered in the surgery. If asymmetry is severe, it can be improved by surgical methods by analyzing size, shape, location, etc.
Q. Can I breastfeed even after mammoplasty?
Mammoplasty does not directly affect pregnancy, birth, or breastfeeding. Sophisticated and careful surgery will not affect mammary gland tissue. And implant insertion is safe for breastfeeding as well.
Q. How old do I have to be to have mammoplasty?
If you are over 18, you may have mammoplasty without the consent of your guardian. However, since changes in mammary gland tissue due to hormonal effect and growth in breast development may be individually different, it is best to decide after sufficient consultation with the surgeon.
Q.How big can my breast be? Is there a natural size for each individual?
Choosing too big of implants that do not fit your body shape can potentially cause many side effects, such as nerve damage, change of implants position and deformation, etc. It may also look unnatural. It’s essential to choose the right size that suits your body rather than focusing on making the breast look larger. To determine the ideal size of the implants, you have to consider physical factors such as height, weight, chest size and shape, amount of skin and elasticity, etc. You also need to consider psychological factors such as the image of the breast you want and the location of the incision. Therefore, you should have a close assessment with a highly experienced surgeon at a trustworthy hospital.
Q. I’m concerned about the cost. Is the more expensive, the better implant?
There is no such thing as the single best implant. As each person has different anatomical conditions, such as the amount of mammary gland tissue, skin thickness, chest shape, etc., implants vary and have different strengths. There are several known implants, but expensive ones are not necessarily good ones, and cheap ones are not necessarily bad ones. Rather than deciding the implant based on the cost or reputation, we recommend that you consult with the surgeon and find the implants that suit you.
