Q. Is it ok to have a facelift in my 20s?
You may start to notice aging considerably in the mid or late 30s, but aging actually begins after the growth phase ends. However, some may look aged or tired even in their early 20s due to facial structure and elasticity, physical conditions, etc. As long as it makes you happy and confident, and helps your social life, then it is the right time to have an anti-aging treatment. And also, you have to be aware that if the wrinkles are too deep as scarring levels, they are irreversible even with treatment.
Q. Can lifting help improve saggy skin after facial bone contouring?
Facial bone contouring rarely causes saggy skin, but it could happen for the following reasons; remaining skin due to bone resection, loss of skin elasticity, excessive bone resection, excessive skin even before the surgery, etc. If saggy cheeks are noticeable even after swelling is relieved, liposuction or lifting can be the solutions.
Q. Do my lower eyelids sag outward after the lower blepharoplasty
One of the known side effects of the lower blepharoplasty is an ectropion. It is an eye condition in which the eyelid turns or sags downward; this leaves the inner eyelid surface exposed and prone to irritation. It rarely happens if the surgery is done correctly, but sometimes the surgeon’s technical defects, such as removing too much skin, too much bleeding, making impossible structures, insufficient experience, etc. may cause the condition. However, problems are more likely to occur if the skin is overly pulled in order to stretch the wrinkles as much as possible. It is good to look young, but it’s also important to keep your look elegant. You should not worry about problems if the surgery is aimed for a 5 to 10 years younger and natural look. If you are suffering from an ectropion due to your physical conditions or problems from another hospital, it can still be treated through various methods starting from taking medications.
Q. Can I remove eyelid wrinkles around my eyes with upper blepharoplasty?
It depends on the shape of the saggy skin and the size of the eyes. If you have big eyes and outward eyelids, then eyelid wrinkles can improve with the upper blepharoplasty. However, if you have narrow eyes and severe eye wrinkles, then infrabrow excision or brow lift could be more suitable. Since everyone has a different eye shape and size, we recommend that you talk to the doctor for a more detailed and precise diagnosis.
Q. I have nasolabial folds and deep facial wrinkles. Which should I go to, a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon?
The three components of aging are 1) sagging due to gravity, 2) decreased elasticity of soft tissue, and 3) volume loss. If you want to properly anti-age, you need to handle all these three components. Various methods should be sued depending on patients’ conditions and goals; they need to think about what the main problem is and how long they can spend in recovery. It is not desirable to stick to limited methods to treat anti-aging. Ultimately, to consider all the available options, from the heaviest surgical method to the lightest non-invasive methods, it is the right choice to consult with a plastic surgeon.
